Ballard Rosenberg Golper & Savitt Wins Summary Judgment Dismissing Disability Discrimination Case

On March 24, 2017, Linda Savitt, Zareh Jaltorossian and Jessica Gomez won summary judgment on behalf a religious organization in a lawsuit alleging disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, and wrongful termination under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). The trial court granted summary judgment on the ground that the defendant’s status as a religious association exempted the defendant from FEHA’s requirements. The court also ruled that the defendant’s motion established that the plaintiff’s termination was not motivated by her alleged disability but rather for legitimate business reasons.
